We had the pleasure of discovering what the Philadelphia Orchestra is doing outside the concert hall. Special thanks to Stephanie Williams, the Director of Communications, we got an inside look at the Orchestra’s HEAR Initiative. In our interview with Danielle Allen, Director of Education and Community we learned how the Orchestra is helping the community of Philadelphia through education and community outreach. Reaching out to underserved communities in the Philadelphia area, the Orchestra plays little concerts in businesses that serve Black and Brown Communities, provides music therapy for those experiencing trauma, and partnering with music education programs for children of all ages.
