New York, New York

We’ll it’s official. I am registered for the New York City Marathon on November 6, 2022! This marathon will be my 5th Marathon and I will be 60 years old. This is a dream come true. I’ve been working toward this for a long time. And it’s truly been One Run At a Time.

How did I get in? There was an old policy that if you continued to apply for at least 5 years you would be guaranteed entry if you didn’t get in on year 5. Good thing I found out from a running friend that that policy no longer is in effect but she told my about the 9 + 1 program. You run 9 qualified NYRR club races and volunteer for one to get a guaranteed entry. That’s how I got in. Watch my video below:

Since that video a lot had changed. Soon after that a pandemic kick in and pretty much changed. I ran another race in NYC after in March and then all the races were cancelled. Luckily they added virtually races and was able to get my 9 races in to get a guaranteed entry.

So in less than 2 weeks I will turn 60 years and then 2 days later I will run the United Airlines NYC Half Marathon. A great way to celebrate 60! I look forward to doing another blog and video about that. After reviewing the 2 videos I did about running, I kind of liked them even though only 15 people watched them. But I liked them so what does it matter.

I am excited again to be writing and vlog about my progress One Run At a Time!
