I had the honor to work with Jim Hartman, Robert Moules and his daughter Rebecca as well as the marketing team at the Ronald McDonald House in Philadelphia to produce a fundraising video. Jim and I teamed up and entered the 2014 Philly Dogooder Hackaton and we drew the Ronald McDonald House out of a hat on January 13th, 2014. There began the 10 day hackaton contest to write, shoot, edit, and produce a 2 to 5 minute video for a good cause.
We worked out a storyline with the help of the marketing team from the Ronald McDonald. We had 2 shooting days. The first day we shot executive director Susan and the second day we shot interviews with 3 amazing families who were currently living at the Ronald McDonald House. Without their story, there is no story. These people were amazing and they showed us what great courage and gratitude is all about.
I cut the first edit to align the story as we had put together on day one. Then I passed it over to Jim’s tremendous editing skills and experience where he took 8 minutes down to 3:30 while adding amazing graphics and b-roll to produce the fundraising film below:
